Boardman River

Tip of the week:
Techniques:

In the upper branches, brookies are taking Adams parachutes and other attractors. From the Forks down, strip buggers or your favorite streamer and keep changing color every 20 minutes until one is good. Hendricksons will return mid-week week with warmer temps.

Suckers are beginning to enter the lower river now. Some steelhead continue as well. Thousands of Chinook smolts have been put into the river and are fun to hook and release. In the lower river, just swing soft-hackles, or drift nymphs, and keep moving downstream. Slow, swinging tactics are now best as fish are now slowing down. Single clown-eggs or hex nymphs fished slowly or using a Euro technique is also good right now.

Seven-day forecast:

Cool temps early in the week. More Spring-like temps midweek. Go to www.streamsideorvis.com "Blog" section on www.streamsideorvis.com home page and choose "weather" to check up on daily weather.
